FEFU summed up the results of 2025 at a meeting of the Supervisory Board chaired by Yuri Trutnev

The latest meeting of the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) Supervisory Board was held in Vladivostok under the chairmanship of Yuri Trutnev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Far Eastern Federal District. The meeting was attended by Alexey Chekunkov, Minister for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic, and Oleg Kozhemyako, Governor of Primorsky Region.

FEFU Rector Boris Korobets presented a report on the 2025 results and development prospects. As the Rector noted, 2025 marked a new stage in the university's development program. "We have completed three pivots: from research to technology, from international to cross-border, and from classical to multidisciplinary with an engineering core," stated Boris Korobets. The Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education supported this course: FEFU was included in the first group of universities under the "Priority 2030" program and became a university implementing the engineering education strategy in accordance with the instructions of the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation.

Particular attention was paid to the implementation of a pilot project to introduce a new model of higher education, in which the university has been participating since 2026. The new model envisions a transition from a two-tier system to a holistic education, the formation of a two-year universal core, and specialization beginning in the third year. The core includes fundamental and social sciences and humanities disciplines, which not only fosters professional thinking but also cultivates patriotism and ensures a high level of culture and civic responsibility. Educational programs under the new model are being created in accordance with the industry's future personnel and technological needs, and this year, the university will accept 25% of first-year students into educational programs under the new concept.
