Dialogue with business about the prospects for the development of the forest industry took place in the Khabarovsk Region

On the eve of the Eastern Economic Forum 2023, a round table was held in Khabarovsk dedicated to the key issues of implementing projects in the field of the forest industry in the Advanced Development Areas and in the Free Port of Vladivostok. The discussion will continue as part of the sectoral session of the EEF-2023. The event was organized by the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic and the Union of Residents of Preferential Regimes with the participation of the government of the Khabarovsk Territory. “For the Khabarovsk Region, the woodworking is an anchor industry. The region is the leader of the Far East in terms of timber production. So, in 2022, the Khabarovsk timber industry enterprises produced 50% of sawn timber, 96% of fuel pellets and almost 48% of veneer from the total volume of the Far Eastern Federal District. The share of timber in total exports is also traditionally high - about 20%," Alla Nesterenko, Deputy Minister of Forestry and Timber Processing of the Khabarovsk Region, cited statistics.
