In Buryatia, within the framework of the “Far Eastern Yards” program, children's yards in military towns are being improved through the Unified Subsidy of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East: in 2024, more than 100 million rubles were allocated for the construction of 14 playgrounds in the region. The implementation of the project made it possible to improve the local infrastructure and improve the quality of leisure for military families and their children.
Director of the Department of Social Development of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East Grigory Smolyak: “The Far Eastern Yards” program was previously called “1000 Yards” and is well known to residents of the district. It has been implemented in the Far Eastern Federal District since 2022. Its goal is to create comfortable, safe and modern courtyard spaces in the region’s populated areas. The program is financed by the Unified Presidential Subsidy of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East. In general, in the Republic of Buryatia, the largest number of new courtyards were built in the city of Ulan-Ude, as well as in the Kabansky, Ivolginsky and Tunkinsky districts; last year we focused on military towns and built new courtyards and playgrounds in the cities of Ulan-Ude and Kyakhta, the settlements of Onohoy-2, Onohoy-3, and the village of Dzhida. Veterans of military operations and participants of the SVO took part in the opening ceremonies of the playgrounds. I would like to note that all courtyard areas are zoned for children of different ages: up to 3 years old, from 3 to 7 years old, and from 7 to 14 years old. Each playground has quiet recreation areas, exercise equipment sectors, and sports games. Each courtyard has an individual design. After the construction work is completed, the adjacent areas are landscaped. In total, the project covered 28 thousand residents of military towns."
