More than 100 applications were received for the competition to create a network of cinemas in small towns in the Far East

As part of the “Technovostok-2030” project, the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC), in collaboration with “Extra Cinema”, accepted applications to establish a network of cinemas in small towns across the Far East. Over 100 applications were submitted, with cultural institutions, creative spaces, and leisure facilities from all regions of the Far Eastern Federal District participating. The competition committee will select the applications based on a number of criteria, including the remoteness of the towns and the availability of the necessary technical conditions.

Following the pilot phase, 13 cinema halls are planned to be equipped. The facilities will be equipped with the domestically produced “Extra Cinema” hardware and software system, including a digital platform, a projector with a built-in media server, a control computer with secure software, a cloud-based content library, a session scheduling and screening management system, and a cinema screen.

This technology enables the viewing of new films in digital quality at a minimal cost—equipping a single cinema screen costs less than 1 million rubles, while licensed content is protected from unauthorized access. Visitors to cinemas equipped with “Extra Cinema” technology can use the Pushkin Card.

From 2023 to 2025, a pilot project was implemented in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), creating 77 cinemas with a total audience of 118,000 people.
