Anton Basansky: Tourism development is creativity

Mechanisms for developing the tourism industry, integrating hotel infrastructure into tourism clusters, and the role of government support in these processes were discussed at the key session "The Hospitality Economy: Key to Spatial Development of Territories and a New Regional Priority" at the VI Sustainable Development Forum in Kamchatka. At the event, State Secretary and Deputy Minister of the Russian Federation for the Development of the Far East and Arctic Anton Basansky spoke about a comprehensive approach to developing tourism infrastructure and the role of the state in creating conditions in the macro-region for realizing the creative potential of investors and entrepreneurs.

"Tourism development is a creative endeavor. Those who develop tourism are proactive, creative, and romantic, eager to develop the Far East and the Arctic. These romantics emerge first, then come medium-sized businesses, and then come large investors who build large resorts," emphasized Anton Basansky.

According to the Deputy Minister for the Development of the Russian Far East, residents of the preferential regimes (of the ASEZ, FPV, AZRF and KIRF) are currently implementing over 400 tourism projects in the Far East under agreements with the Far East and Arctic Development Corporation.
