Anton Basansky: Every 10th investment project of residents of preferential regimes in the Far East is implemented in the tourism sector

Anton Basansky, State Secretary and Deputy Minister of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East, spoke at the plenary session "Investment Strategy 2030. Tourism" at the Forum of Russian Regions. He presented state tourism policy in the Russian Far East and outlined priority areas for tourism infrastructure development.

"The Far East's priorities have traditionally been mining and manufacturing, but in recent years, the macro-region has discovered a new area: tourism. Every 10th resident of our preferential regimes in the Far Eastern Federal District is a company implementing tourism investment projects. Today, there are 346 of them. Last year, 6.5 million people visited the Far East. With such a tourist flow, we are already lacking infrastructure, accommodations, and experienced tour operators. These are our main growth areas," said Anton Basansky.
