On March 4, Russian Minister for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic Alexey Chekunkov took part in the plenary session of the II Forum "Women for a Healthy Society", which brought together women leaders from 73 regions of the country who have dedicated their lives to the formation of a healthy society, improving social well-being and increasing the life expectancy of Russians. Speakers at the forum included the Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Matviyenko, the Minister of Healthcare of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko, and the head of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency Veronika Skvortsova. The Plenary Session was opened by the Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Ivanovna Matviyenko, who read out a greeting from the President of Russia Vladimir Putin to the participants of the forum. According to her, the topic of health preservation is under the personal control of the Head of State and is included in the agenda of the largest international events. "Vladimir Putin clearly outlined the key principle of the healthcare system: it should be centered on the person and his health. Women are the real conductors of a responsible attitude to health. And it is women who will play the most important role in implementing the task set by the President," Matviyenko emphasized. Welcoming the forum participants, Alexey Chekunkov expressed his gratitude to all the women: “It is a great honor for me to be in this hall with such respectable people on the eve of March 8. Since childhood, each of us has felt awe and admiration for the work of those who treat us, those who teach us. You make an invaluable contribution to strengthening and maintaining the health of our citizens, improving their quality of life. You give people confidence and peace of mind for their present and future, for the safety of their families. You follow the call of your heart and a sense of duty. This is the most important humanitarian mission. I would like to express special words of gratitude to those women who show exceptional dedication, working and providing medical care in hard-to-reach places of our country, as well as in the area of a special military operation.”
