Alexey Chekunkov took part in the Russian-Chinese economic forum "Amur Expo - 2023"

The head of the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East, Alexei Chekunkov, during a working visit to the Amur Region, took part in the Russian-Chinese Economic Forum Amur Expo 2023, which was held in Blagoveshchensk. During the forum, promising areas for the further development of Russian-Chinese cooperation in the context of global changes in trade, production, and logistics chains were discussed. According to Alexey Chekunkov, Russia and China are interested in new forms of cooperation: “Alibaba already identifies the Far East as a key center for the reorganization of the logistics business. In China, we met with a number of technology companies that are ready to organize new production in high-tech areas, agriculture, IT, renewable energy. The Chinese comrades are showing interest in the NSR. A research station project is being developed in Svalbard, in which China and India have shown interest. One of the important directions is to increase the efficiency of border crossings. The Russian government will take measures and hold mutual consultations with the PRC to ensure that border inspections are quick and seamless.”
