Vladimir Putin held a session on the development of Far Eastern cities

President of Russia V.V. Putin held a videoconference on the implementation of the program for the development of Far Eastern cities - Anadyr, Magadan, Yakutsk. Opening the meeting, the President recalled that the decision to launch a program aimed at improving the quality of life in the Far Eastern regions was made two years ago. The first master plan was approved in September 2022 for Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. In March 2023, master plans for five more cities were considered. Among them are Ulan-Ude, Chita, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and two BAM cities - Severobaikalsk and Tynda. According to these plans, active work began. “All three cities on our agenda are known by harsh climatic conditions. This dictates its own characteristics in construction, leaves its mark on the way of life in these cities. And our task is to create decent living conditions and a comfortable urban environment using modern building materials and technologies, advanced urban planning solutions, so that people want to live here, work, raise children, so that young specialists come to these areas, these regions,” said Vladimir Putin. Additional funding limits are provided for the implementation of master plans: 5 billion rubles a year for the improvement of cities and 100 billion rubles - a separate Far Eastern limit for the program of infrastructure budget loans for 2023-2024.
