Alexey Chekunkov’s working trip to Sakhalin

During a working trip to the Sakhalin region, the head of the Ministry of Eastern Development Alexey Chekunkov took part in the strategic session “Priority 2030. The Far East: challenges of the time and prospects for development,” the main topic of which was the implementation of the Far Eastern track of a large-scale federal program. As the minister noted, the process of creating a qualitatively new educational circuit is underway in the Far East. Under the “Priority 2030. Far East” program, 12 universities in the Far Eastern Federal District are being modernized, 3 Far Eastern universities are participating in the federal track of the program, 2 universities have been selected as candidates for the program. 38 new laboratories, 10 educational and scientific centers of various directions, 60 new educational programs, and 20 additional vocational education programs have been created. 24 network programs are implemented jointly with leading universities. World-class campuses are becoming key elements of master plans for the development of such Far Eastern cities as Yakutsk, Ulan-Ude, Chita, Blagoveshchensk, Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk, Khabarovsk.
