The “Presidential Unified Subsidy” program has become a powerful tool for the development of almost 60 cities in the Far East

Six years ago, on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation, active construction of infrastructure and social facilities began in the Far East. The start was the approval of the rules for providing funding to the regions of the Far Eastern Federal District as part of the implementation of social development plans for economic growth centers. The program was called the “Presidential Unified Subsidy”. It affects the interests of more than 80% of the macro region’s residents in 58 cities. Starting from 2018, the federal budget has allocated over 215 billion rubles for these purposes. To date, almost 2 thousand infrastructure and social facilities have already been built. Among them are schools in Kurilsk and the village of Nogliki, a pension for veterans in Korsakov, as well as 8.1 thousand square meters of housing for 150 families in the Sakhalin region. A cardiovascular center with 150 hospital beds and a creative cluster “Quarter of Labor” have been created in Yakutsk. More than 1 thousand people and at least 150 resident companies will have the opportunity to work at the cluster sites. In Blagoveshchensk, Amur Region, the embankment was reconstructed, and in Magadan, a section of the shore of the Sea of Okhotsk in Nagaev Bay was strengthened. This year it is planned to build a modular gym in the village of Nunligran in Chukotka, and in Buryatia, in the city of Kyakhta, a new House of Culture with 400 seats will be opened, a number of key facilities will begin to be built in Kamchatka in 2024.
