The priorities and opportunities of higher education in the Far East were presented to visitors of the International Exhibition and Forum “Russia”

In Moscow, at the exhibition site “We are the Far East” of the International Exhibition and Forum “Russia”, a presentation session “Priorities and opportunities for higher education in the Far East” was held. The head of the Russian Ministry of Eastern Development Alexey Chekunkov attended the event. “Students of Far Eastern universities today can study according to the standards of Moscow State University, Higher School of Economics, Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology, MGIMO, ITMO, while remaining in their native region. Getting a profession as a volcanologist, studying the world ocean, the unique plants of Lake Baikal or marine nuclear competence - all this has become possible to do at universities in the Far East. The largest companies and projects have become partners of universities, which in the future guarantee (students) high-paying jobs. These are “Norilsk Nickel”, “Rosatom”, “Gazprom”, “Sberbank”, “Roscosmos”, “RusHydro”. For several years now, we have been recording an influx of young people aged 20-24 into the region. They go to study in the Far East and choose the Far Eastern Federal District as the place to start their professional career. In implementing historical decisions to transform the region, universities are taking key positions, offering new intellectual, technological and social solutions,” said Alexey Chekunkov. Rectors of leading Far Eastern universities spoke about the achievements of their educational organizations, the advantages of training and the prospects for obtaining in-demand professions.
