All 11 regions of the Far East are the territory of priority settlement under the
State Program for Assistance in the Voluntary Resettlement of Compatriots
Living Abroad. Newcomers receive subsidies for the purchase of housing, lifting
and benefits in the absence of income. People can get a plot of land for free
under the "Far Eastern Hectare" program and take a preferential
housing loan at the lowest interest rate in the country on the "Far
Eastern Mortgage" program - up to 2% per annum.
