An enrichment plant at the Udokan deposit was launched at the Eastern Economic Forum

As part of the Eastern Economic Forum, the launch of equipment for the processing mill of the Udokan mining and metallurgical factory took place. As a result, the enterprise received its first copper concentrate. The opening ceremony was attended by the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation - Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Far Eastern Federal District Yuri Trutnev, as well as the head of the Ministry of Eastern Development of Russia Alexey Chekunkov. The project was implemented using state support mechanisms in the priority development territory "Transbaikalia" (the volume of investments within the ASEZ is more than 230 billion rubles). Udokan, with resources of 26.7 million tons, is the largest copper deposit in Russia. The new enterprise uses technology that allows complex extraction of copper from ore containing both sulfide and oxidized minerals. The capacity of the first stage of the plant will allow it to process up to 15 million tons of ore and produce 150 thousand tons of copper per year (copper cathode and sulfide copper concentrate). It is planned to build the second stage of the plant and increase productivity to 450 thousand tons of copper per year with a processing volume of up to 50 million tons of ore, which will allow the company to enter the top ten world largest producers.
