In the Far East, colleges and technical schools are creating new educational programs in the interests of enterprises in key sectors of the region’s economy

From September 1, 2024, educational institutions of secondary vocational education (SVE) in the Far East will begin training on a budgetary basis in 15 new educational programs with 370 training places. In general, for the 2024/25 academic year, colleges and technical schools of the Far Eastern Federal District offer applicants about 40 thousand budget places (excluding vocational training programs at universities). The Corporation for the Development of the Far East and Arctic (FEDC) annually sends expert information to the regional authorities of the Far Eastern Federal District with calculations of the personnel needs of employers in the region and proposals on the volume and structure of professional training. The result of this work is an increase in admission targets and the opening of new specialties that are in demand by enterprises in key sectors of the economy of the Far Eastern Federal District. Director of the Department of Human Resources Development of the FEDC, Yuriy Prokhorov, notes the focus of the Corporation’s work on synchronizing the personnel training system and the labor market and practical interaction between colleges and enterprises.
