Opening remarks by Mikhail Mishustin: “Good afternoon, dear colleagues! Today, at the regular strategic session, we will discuss measures, that will contribute to the socio-economic renewal of all Regions of the Far East, and will also ensure the fulfillment of the tasks that the President sets. The head of state emphasized that the rapid development of the regions of the Far East is our priority, our common responsibility and the work of the Government, the regions, and the largest domestic companies. We are guided by this in our activities... I will point out several significant areas that require maximum coordination at all levels. First of all, this is demography... That is, social conditions in this district should not lag behind the European part of Russia. Then local residents will also stay here, and young people from other regions will begin to come with pleasure. The second very important, key point is the renewal of infrastructure, including roads, housing and communal services, and energy networks. Both people and businesses need this. The third block is related to the preservation of the natural resources of the Far East... Therefore, it is absolutely normal that respect for ecosystems should be taken into account in every project... And fourth, most important. In all endeavors, we need feedback from the people who live there... The President has repeatedly emphasized that we should first of all focus on the needs of people and consult with them. They can suggest how to achieve results with the greatest effect.”
