FEDC presented trends in the labor market of the Far East and mechanisms for the development of secondary vocational education at a strategic session in Khabarovsk

The Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic (FEDC) opened the Strategic Session on the development of the system of secondary vocational education in the Far Eastern Federal District, which is taking place from May 22 to May 24 in Khabarovsk. More than 100 heads of professional educational organizations of the Far East, representatives of regional executive authorities, development institutions and key employers take part in the event. The organizers of the strategic session were the Ministry of Education of Russia, the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East, the FEDC, the Institute for the Development of Vocational Education. The executive director of the FEDC for social development, Gasan Gasanbalaev, spoke about the current trends in the labor market of the Far East, and also noted the high demand for specialists with secondary vocational education: “Implementation of investment projects is impossible without qualified personnel. Over the past ten years, investors have already invested more than 3 trillion rubles in the Far East. Business generates demand for qualified personnel. According to our calculations, by 2027 the additional staffing requirement is 80,000 people, and more than 70% of them are specialists with secondary vocational education,” he said. Gasan Gasanbalaev presented key initiatives for the development of secondary vocational education in the Far East, including the creation of modern workshops - today 322 have already been opened, and in the period up to 2029 it is planned to launch another 600 workshops, in addition, it is planned to build a technopark for vocational education in Vladivostok. 17 educational and production clusters have been created in the regions of the Far Eastern Federal District. It trains specialists from such industries as mechanical engineering, agriculture, railway transport, metallurgy, the fuel and energy complex, transport, as well as pedagogy. It is planned to create 12 more clusters within the framework of the federal project "Professionality".
