FEDC supported the project to create a plant for the reproduction of wild salmon broodstock in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug

On the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, the Corporation for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic (FEDC), the administration of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug and “NORD-GROUP” LLC signed a cooperation agreement that provides for cooperation in creating a complex for the reproduction of valuable fish species in the Arctic region. The document was signed by Kirill Kamenev, Deputy Director General for Investment Promotion of the FEDC, Yuri Bezdudny, Governor of the Nenets Autonomous Okrug, and Vadim Zakharov, founder of ‘Nord-Group” LLC. The implementation of the project will begin with the preparation of a scientific justification. The company plans to launch a plant for the reproduction of wild salmon broodstock in Naryan-Mar by the fall of 2024. After that, it will take about 2-3 years to grow the herd, and then the process of reproduction itself will begin. The work will be carried out on several small spawning rivers by nesting method. There are already successful examples of aquaculture development projects in the Far East – in Sakhalin and the Kuriles.
