Alexey Chekunkov spoke about the results of the “Priority-2030” program

Minister for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic Alexey Chekunkov took part in the Best Practices Forum "PRIORITY FEST 2024", held in Moscow at Moscow State Institute of International Relations. The Forum participants discussed the interim results of work on the development of universities participating in the "Priority 2030" program, the current state of education in the Far East and the development of creative industries in the region. Competitive conditions have been created for students and young professionals in the Far East: a large number of vacant jobs, the possibility of rapid career growth, wages 35% higher than the Russian average. The migration influx of young people aged 20 to 24 to the Far East for the period from 2016 to 2023 amounted to 28.8 thousand people. "The shortage of personnel is one of the "growing pains" of the accelerated development of the Far East: out of 120 thousand jobs in the region, 40 thousand are vacant, some enterprises have to bring entire teams from the European part of the country. Against the background of the general decline in the population of the Far East, we are recording an increase in the number of students. By 2030, 12 trillion rubles will be invested in the program, in the next 6 years 1.3 trillion rubles will be invested - higher education in the Far East has truly "breathed", - said Alexey Chekunkov.
