Participants in the super final of the “Closer to the Far” Olympiad presented projects for the development of the economy and social sphere of the Far Eastern Federal District

The Far East and Arctic Development Corporation (FEDC) and the Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU) completed the VII All-Russian meta-subject Olympiad “Closer to the Far”. The super final was attended by 50 schoolchildren from various regions of Russia, who successfully passed all the qualifying stages. During the week they worked out projects aimed at the development and promotion of the Far East. The most successful participants received additional points for admission to FEFU and other higher educational institutions of the Far Eastern Federal District. FEDC Executive Director for Social Development Gasan Gasanbalayev: “For 7 years, the “Closer to the Far” Olympiad has been enriching our country’s schoolchildren with knowledge about the Far East, awakening in them interest and love for this region that is strategically important for the country. The Olympics gives participants bright emotions, impressions and new friends, and teaches them to work in a team. Finalists have the opportunity to communicate with experts from development institutions, representatives of large companies, teachers and scientists. This year, their mentors were graduates of the “Muravyov-Amursky 2030” program. In the final, we saw innovative technological proposals for Far Eastern companies, interesting solutions for the development of tourism, medicine, and education. We know that many finalists will tie their future with our Region - after all, the Far East provides an opportunity for enterprising young people to implement bright and daring projects. With the end of the Olympics, we do not say goodbye to the guys. Many of them will become applicants to Far Eastern universities, valuable young specialists, professionals developing the Far East.”
